Engr Donatus Oduopara is the Managing Director of Buildsafe Nig Ltd based in Lagos, Nigeria. He is a renowned structural engineer par excellence with over 20 years of practical experience. He is a staunch advocate for the adoption of Digitalization in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Operations (AECO) industry here in Nigeria, and a key contributor to the activities of BIM Africa.
Under his watch, Buildsafe Nigeria ltd has become a BIM compliant organisation with expertise in BIM adoption and execution processes, lidargrammetry etc
He was the brain behind Lagos Digital Construction and BIM Workshop in June 2019.

Engr. Abubakar Lawal is the Principal Partner at Infraworks Engineering Services Limited. He is a Civil Infrastructure Engineer and BIM for Infrastructure specialist with over 13 years’ experience in the Civil Engineering industry. Prior to being a principal partner at Infraworks Engineering Services Limited, he was a Civil Infrastructure Engineer for Integrated Advanced Analyst Associates on NLNG Head Office Design Project and Project Manager for China Guoji Engineering Limited on a short term contract. Abubakar is an Autodesk Certified Instructor and Product Support Professional. He regularly conducts trainings on the use of Autodesk Technology in civil engineering and regularly provides implementation services, customization, construction documentation review faced with implementation challenges and support to civil engineering professionals on Autodesk AEC BIM Technology Portfolio products. He has become an expert on BIM for Infrastructure as it pertains to civil engineering practices and interoperability between other design disciplines in the AEC enterprise. In addition to his civil engineering background, he has been involved with drone for Surveying and Mapping, Civil Infrastructure planning and design. In the last 4 years, he has been working on BIM for Infrastructure applications and implementations to Civil Engineering Projects in Nigeria.

Dr Zulfikar Adamu is an Associate Professor of Strategic IT in Construction at London South Bank University (LSBU) with around 20 years’ experience in academia and industries in the UK, Middle East and Nigeria. His work focuses on research, development and application of digital technologies in AEC in specialist areas such as: Building Information Modelling (BIM); City Information Modelling; Digital Twinning; Data Science and Big Data; Internet of Things (IoT); Virtual and Augmented Reality; Blockchain as well as Algorithmic and Computational Modelling and Simulation of buildings. He was a speaker at AU London 2018 (integrating BIM360 in university curriculum); a panellist at AU Las Vegas 2019; and has twice been selected as a judge by Autodesk for its global AEC Excellence Award (2018 and 2019)

Furthermore, he remains a thought leader in the industry and has keynoted at several major regional conferences in Africa. As one of the co-Founders of the BIM Community Africa, he also dedicates his free time to the non-profit community that has the mission to raise the tide of the BIM knowledge in the industry
BIM Africa Initiative
Azeez Abubakar is a young and vibrant professional and an Ambassador at BIM Africa Initiative. He is passionate about smart cities, digital construction and Building Information Modeling (BIM). He is a researcher exploring the use of generative design and BIM to exploit conceptual design innovation and virtual reality (VR) for real-time visualisation at the early design phase of a project to increase energy efficiency, lower carbon emissions, lower overall project cost and deliver the project faster. He has received several awards for his work in smart cities and BIM. He will be publishing his work in smart cities on Innovative Governance of Large Urban Systems (IGLUS). He is enthusiastic about leveraging Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), Extended Reality (XR), Internet of Things (IoT) and other disruptive technologies in the AEC industry. He has participated in several BIM advocacy events and construction exhibitions in Nigeria and Kenya. Also, he has got excellent project management experience working on the Dangote Fertilizer Project and as the strategy person for the National Campus Innovation Challenge at Young Innovation Leaders Fellowship.

Dr Edouard Din is an Associate Professor of Architecture and Director of digital technology at Tuskegee University, the oldest black college in the USA. He is also the Executive Director at Digitalite, Inc. – a digital design platform in Yaounde, Cameroon.
Dr Din is a swiss-educated architect from ETH/EPF and a native of Cameroon. In the past, he has worn several hats such as junior architect in Atelier de Montrouge in Paris, and the first national Director of Habitat in Cameroon. At that time he published the magazine PAPYRUS – a quarterly of techniques of arts and culture and also founded kmtspace.com: African Art and Architecture. His research work, “emergent symmetries” has received worldwide recognition –

Mr Nguyen is the Owner and Director of Parallel BIM Consulting based in New York and Nairobi, Kenya. He has been working in AEC industry for over 20 years with a number of international renowned design and construction firms in Vietnam, Australia and the USA. Mr Nguyen graduated from the University of New South Wales, Australia with the Master of Architecture degree.
Agyemang Ofosu is a Civil/Structure Engineer with Bunits Engineering based in Ghana. He has found an interest in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and has ultimately found an interest in computer programming and its relevance to BIM. He has experience in building custom solutions and developing applications tailored towards Revit for structural documentations. Agyemang has experience with the .NET Framework, C#, Dynamo APIs and Revit APIs to develop and maintain applications.

His work “SOHO Living for Urban professionals made it to the 2nd stage of the World Architecture News (WAN) awards in December 2012.

He is an instructor, consultant and technical specialist in Autodesk BIM solutions (AEC Collection ) on behalf of IDEATE / Autodesk in the French-speaking region of Africa based in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
His interest is in Digital Construction and the deployment of technology to influence the Civil Engineering sector across Africa.

Juliet is an architect from the U.K. and Ghana. She received her BA and M.Arch from the Sheffield School of Architecture, and her professional qualification from the Architectural Association School of Architecture as well as the ARC and GIA in Ghana. Juliet is currently undertaking a PhD at Oxford Brookes University on BIM-based capacity building for sustainable upgrading in informal settlements. She has worked for architectural practices in Birmingham, Accra and Bristol, and at academic institutions such as the University of East London and Birmingham City University. She is currently a Visiting Tutor at BSoAD. Juliet conceived and developed The Architects’ Project initiative in Accra. Alongside her team, and through a variety of programmes, she uses the /tap platform to explore architecture’s potential as a tool for development.
